Dance With Me! Creative Movement for Parent and Child
Ages 12 months-2 years
This class is a fun and creative intro to dancing for little ones! Students will practice simple dance steps, basic rhythms and floor patterns, and large motor skills. We will learn yoga and breathing activities, and work on a dance for the final class of each session, all while learning to take direction from the teacher.
Note: caregivers will be asked to participate in class with their dancer.

Baby Ballet
Ages 2.5-4.5
This class introduces ballet to young students through creative movement and fun music! Students will learn their body positions and the basics of ballet while allowing their self-expression and creativity to shine!
Junior Ballet
Ages 5-6
This class will begin incorporating more ballet terminology while encouraging a fun dance atmosphere. Students will learn to identify steps and their French names while laying a foundation of strong, healthy, and correct technique for future classes.
Ballet
Level 1
Ages 7-9
This class will focus on more precise dance technique, while cultivating creativity and fun. Students will learn to transition from barre to center and across-the-floor work. They will begin to develop an understanding of ballet class as a whole and gain the skills and confidence for performing ballet.
Ballet
Level 2
Ages 10-14
In this class, students will learn and practice a complete ballet class, while strengthening and improving their technique. At this level, choreography will become more advanced, and corrections more specific. Students will take a more independent approach to their education, working on corrections as they are given, and developing their artistry and unique style within each ballet class.

Jazz
Ages 9-14

This class focuses on the basics of modern and jazz technique. Through musicality, movement, and choreography, students will develop their technique, gain a deeper understanding of the way their body moves through space and how to control that movement.
Hip-Hop
Level 1
Ages 6-9
This class will introduce students to the fun and upbeat energy of hip-hop. Classes will focus on understanding rhythm, learning steps, and building confidence, all while learning music-listening skills and following directions from the teacher.

Ages 10-14
In this class, students will grow in their understanding of the fundamentals of hip-hop, and focus on more advanced choreography, rhythms, and musicality. Classwork will become more complex, and students will be encouraged to explore their own unique style within each class.
Rhythm Rookies
Ages 7-11
A fun, upbeat combo class of contemporary, jazz and modern that aims to build an understanding of rhythm and musicality within movement. The Rookies class will focus on the basics of contemporary, jazz and modern technique, as well as learning choreography, and developing a sense of artistry while dancing.
Rhythm Rebels
Ages 12-16
A fun, upbeat combo class of contemporary, jazz and modern that aims to build an understanding of rhythm and musicality within movement. The Rebels class will focus on stronger and more advanced contemporary, jazz and modern technique, as well as learning and creating choreography, and developing their unique artistry while dancing.
Ballroom Dance

Steamboat Academy of Music & Dance has a per dance season of $25 per student and a one-time forever music lesson registration fee of $25 per student . Steamboat Academy offers the largest family discount in Steamboat Springs for multiple lessons/family members.
Shop Class Attire HereNEW! BALLET FOR ATHLETES dance class is offered in cooperation with Steamboat Dance Theatre's Dance Vitality grant program. This class is geared toward young athletes participating in any of the athletic organization programs in the Routt County area. Dance training improves flexibility and athletic performance as well as protects from injury.
Ballet for Athletes is offered through the various athletic organizations in coordination with Steamboat Dance Theatre and this year is being taught by instructors from Steamboat Academy of Music and Dance.
