About Steamboat Academy of Music & Dance
Are you interested in ballet, jazz, tap or hip hop classes for your child or even yourself? Looking for a fun way to exercise? Steamboat Academy of Music & Dance has a dance classes for all skill levels and age groups. Our experienced instructors make learning fun for you or your child.
Baby Ballet:
This class introduces ballet to students through creative movement and fun music! Students will get to learn their body positions and the basics of ballet while allowing their self expression and creativity to shine! 30 minutes each.
Hip-Hop 1 & 2:
Students will learn the groove of hip-hop through learning combos and specific exercises. Students will also learn some hip-hop tricks. The younger hip-hop class will be 30 minutes, and the older one will be 45 minutes.
Primary Ballet:
This class will begin incorporating more ballet terminology while still encouraging a fun dance atmosphere. Students will develop the knowledge to identify steps and their french names while dancing to age appropriate music. 30 minutes each.
Tap/Ballet Combo:
Students will learn the basics of tap and ballet dance through center and across the floor combinations accompanied by age appropriate music. Students will learn the fundamentals of these dance techniques, building a strong foundation for their future dance training. 45 minute class.
Acrobatics 1 & 2:
Students will learn a fun combo of gymnastics and dance. A lot of this class is spent stretching and strengthening the dancer's body as well. 45 minute class.
Beginning Ballet:
Beginning Ballet: In this class, students will become more focused on proper technique, and will begin incorporating barre work. Classical piano music will be introduced. Students should have at least one year of dance experience before entering this class. 45 minutes each.
Level 1 & 2
Students in these levels will have the opportunity to train at the level they choose. Taking all three styles will have you in the dance studio more than once a week, if you are looking for a more serious dance environment, or you can take one of these level classes if and have a more recreational dance experience, while still getting quality training. We offer level 1 and 2 classes in ballet, tap, and jazz. 45-1 hour 15 minutes- depending on style
