Our dance teachers are highly trained in their field and love what they do!
Chris Freese started ballroom dancing as a young boy, thanks to his Aunt Virginia. She was a gold level student at Fred Astaire dance studio in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Years later his aunt informed him that the dance studio was training new instructors, so Chris applied, and was hired to teach bronze level, or beginner dance lessons. The owners of the studio were the three time theatrical world champions, Bruno and Luanne Puliam, so Chris had amazing advanced instructors to help him at all times. Eventually moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he continued to teach beginner students for a couple more years. Dancing has always been one of his favorite things to do - right up there with surfin and snowboarding. He is super excited to teach folks in the Yampa Valley, his home for over twenty years now.
Emma's dance background includes almost ten years of Ballet training when she was growing up, along with more recent training in Jazz and Modern/Contemporary dance. She took dance classes whilst attending Colby College in Maine, and has also participated in the local Steamboat Dance Theater community performance. She is very excited to be joining Steamboat Academy of Music and Dance and to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with the Steamboat community!
